When does the baby start toilet training?

1. Baby’s diaper can be kept dry for at least 2 hours or still dry after taking a nap.

2. If the diapers are dirty, the baby may feel uncomfortable and have a desire to replace them with new ones.

3. Babies begin to develop an interest in toilets and become curious when adults use the restroom.

4. The baby's bowel movements gradually become regular.

5. The baby voluntarily requests to wear small underwear.

6. Babies can follow simple instructions from their parents, such as "giving toys to their mother.".

7. Babies learn to use facial expressions, gestures, or language to express themselves during urination and defecation.

8. Babies can take off (put on) their pants themselves or with the help of their parents.

But parents should not rush to abstain from diapers for their children.

Research has shown that children who learn to use the restroom before the age of 18 months usually do not fully master the relevant skills until after the age of 4 years old. On the contrary, children who only start training around the age of 2 can use the restroom independently in just one year.

So parents should not be in a hurry when helping children abstain from diapers and learn go to the toilet.
