How to classify the wet wipes after use?

We sort our waste into four groups：recyclable waste, kitchen waste(wet garbage), other waste(dry garbage) and harmful waste.

Recyclable waste concludes some household waste suitable for recycling and recyclable, such as waste paper sheet, waste plastic, waste glass products, waste metal, waste fabric and so on.

Kitchen waste(wet garbage) is perishable waste which concludes food material waste, leftovers, expired food, melon skins and seeds, flowers and green plants, Chinese medicine residue and other perishable domestic material waste.

Harmful waste refers to waste batteries, waste light tubes, waste drugs, waste paint and containers and other household wastes that cause direct or potential harm to human health or the natural environment.

Other waste(dry garbage) refers to other household wastes except recyclables, harmful and wet wastes which concludes disposable tableware, paper napkin, toilet paper, diapers, soiled plastic bags, soiled paper, dust, big bones and so on.

Take wet wipes for example.

First of all, the main raw materials of wet wipes are non-woven fabric and pure water. It is a daily cleaning product that contacts with the skin directly. It will not cause direct or potential harm to human health and the natural environment. So it not belongs to harmful waste.

Secondly, the used wet wipes is polluted and cannot be recycled. Unused wet wipes are prone to be polluted in the process of collection and transportation, and lose the value of recycling.

Thirdly, wet waste is perishable household waste produced by daily life, which is called "perishable waste" in many cities, while wet towel paper is not perishable.

Therefore wet wipes belong to dry waste.
