The world's first biodegradable hot melt adhesive solution has been launched

Bio based refers to the source of raw materials being renewable resources rather than fossil fuels.

Bio degradable refers to the ability of materials to be decomposed into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass by microorganisms in specific environments at the end of their life cycle.

If a certain material combines the characteristics of both, it can maximize the advantage of minimizing carbon footprint in a closed-loop carbon cycle process.

The carbon dioxide, water, and biomass produced by the bio degradation process contribute to the growth of plants, and at the same time, plants themselves can be converted into bio materials. This cycle originates from nature and returns to it.

STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

TUV Austria's bio based certification scheme requires that the total carbon content of the product be at least 30% or higher, and that the bio based carbon content be at least 20% or higher to meet the requirements of one star certification.

A material can only be claimed to be or not biodegradable, and there is no compromise between the two. EN13432 explicitly requires a compost degradation rate greater than 90% to be defined as compostable degradation.
