The Double Seventh Festival

On August 22, it is the Double Seventh Festival of the year. The Double Seventh Festival is a Chinese folk traditional festival.

The Double Seventh Festival is endowed with the beautiful love legend of "Cowherd and Weaver Girl", making it a festival symbolizing love, which is considered to be the most romantic traditional festival in China, and has produced the cultural meaning of "Chinese Valentine's Day" in contemporary times. On May 20, 2006, Double Seventh Festival was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list by The State Council of the People's Republic of China.

In Shitang, Wenling, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, there has always been a custom of holding "Little Man Day" blessing activities on the Double Seventh Festival, praying for their children under the age of 16.

Therefore, the Double Seventh Festival is not only "Chinese Valentine's Day", but also a coming-of-age ceremony for children.
