GOO.N began producing fluff pulp

According to Japanese media reports, GOO.N has officially started producing fluff pulp. Fluff pulp is the main raw material for sanitary products such as diapers. As previously announced, the 15th paper machine, which has been renovated at the company's Mishima factory, has been put into production for fluff pulp. The equipment has an investment of approximately 6 billion yen and a monthly production capacity of 7500 tons.

Through the renovation of the paper making equipment, GOO.N will shift its business focus from the production of ordinary paper, which continues to decline in demand, to household and personal care businesses.

GOO.N has seen expanding and strengthening its home and personal care business as an engine of business growth. In June 2022, the company began collaborating with Japanese diaper companies Livedo Corporation and Total Care System to research diaper recycling business. By establishing a recycling business and self-produced fluff pulp, the use of fluff pulp mixed with recycled pulp in self-produced diapers can be achieved.
